Carmen Miranda song lyrics
Carmen Miranda was a Portuguese-Brazilian samba singer, born in the small northern Portuguese town of Marco de Canaveses on February 9, 1909. Because her parents didn’t agree with a carrer in shown business, she kept them secret for years her success as singer and motion picture star.
Carmen Miranda was invited to perform in a show on Broadway, in New York City, while in Brazil she was considered a musical innovator and one of the first samba superstars. She was the country's highest-paid entertainer for several years in the 1940s, and in 1945 was the highest-paid woman in the United States. "The Brazilian Bombshell" sold more than 10 million copies worldwide. She died on August 5, 1955 of a heart attack following an appearance on The Jimmy Durante Show, after completing a dance number.
